The authors disclose an unpublished document, dating from the sixteenth century, whose examination sheds light on two important points regarding to the history of the Central Valley area of Chile: to accurately set the limits and scope of the Inca dominion and, moreover, to track the legal source of rural property in that geographical area. Los autores dan a conocer un documento inédito, datado del siglo XVI, cuyo examen arroja luces sobre dos puntos importantes con respecto a la historia de la zona del Valle Central de Chile: establecer con precisión los límites y alcances del señorío incaico y, por otra parte, rastrear el origen de la propiedad rural legalizada en dicho ámbito geográfico.
