The class action was established in the 19th century, highlighting its relevance over time. In Peru, its incorporation materialized with the Constitution of 1933. However, since its implementation, several problems have arisen in its understanding. The objective of this paper is to clarify the deficiencies present in Article 133 of the Political Constitution of Peru and to propose an exegesis congruent with the normative text. To this end, the context, content and application of the norm in question will be analyzed in order to arrive at the most adequate reading of the aforementioned article.La acción popular fue instaurada en el siglo XIX, destacándose su relevancia a lo largo del tiempo. En el Perú, su incorporación se materializó con la Constitución de 1933. No obstante, desde su implementación, surgieron diversos inconvenientes en su comprensión. El objetivo del presente trabajo es esclarecer las deficiencias presentes en el artículo 133 de la Constitución Política del Perú y proponer una exégesis congruente con el texto normativo. Para tal fin, se analiza el contexto, contenido y aplicación de la norma en cuestión, con el propósito de alcanzar la lectura más adecuada del mencionado artículo.
