This article analyses the legislation of Brazil and the State of San Pablo on the preservation of the environment and fauna. This legislation condemns the mistreatment of animals, but Brazilian justice does not punish those responsible for animal abuse. The current government dismantled the agencies in charge of inspection and punishment of these crimes. Este artículo analiza la legislación de Brasil y del estado de San Pablo sobre la preservación del medio ambiente y la fauna. Esta legislación condena el maltrato, pero, la justicia brasileña no castiga a los responsables. El gobierno actual desmanteló los organismos responsables de la inspección y castigo de estos crímenes.
