This article analyzes a problem present in numerous works by Roberto Vernengo, the relationship between Morals and Law. His study of the problem is characterized by his analytical approach to the logical and linguistic structures of the prescriptive statements of moral and legal discourses. The objective is to determine the type of relationships that can occur between both orders. The presentation begins by showing that the search to sustain a dependence on the Right to Morality, obeys claims of political intervention, whether state or religious, in the sphere of the moral subject. This position is rejected by the author, as it is based on methodologically problematic assumptions, when not, insufficient. In order to show the impertinence of the attributed identity and sub-alternation relations, I return to the analysis that he develops on these prescriptive systems in his Course on General Theory of Law. This work, designed for the classroom, consists of one of the most illuminating lessons on the distinction, in which it is concluded that it is a contingency, whose distinction, both in the strict sense, are mechanisms of social control. The topics analyzed are: the discernible aspects of the different types of statements, the ends pursued by each order and the relative and absolute character attributed to the values.Este artículo analiza un problema presente en numerosos trabajos de Roberto Vernengo, la relación entre Moral y Derecho. Su estudio del problema se caracteriza por su enfoque analítico de las estructuras lógicas y lingüísticas de los enunciados prescriptivos de los discursos morales y jurídicos. El objetivo es determinar el tipo de relaciones que puedan darse entre ambos órdenes. La presentación comienza por mostrar que la búsqueda de sostener una dependencia del Derecho a la Moral, obedece a pretensiones de intervención política, ya sea estatal o religiosa, en la esfera del sujeto moral. Esta postura es rechazada por el autor, al estar fundada en presupuestos metodológicamente problemáticos, cuando no, insuficientes. A los fines de mostrar la impertinencia de las relaciones de identidad y de sub-alternación atribuidas, retomo el análisis que sobre estos sistemas prescriptivos desarrolla en su Curso de Teoría General del Derecho. Este trabajo, pensado para las aulas, consiste en una de las lecciones más esclarecedoras sobre la distinción, en la que se concluye que se trata de una contingencia distinción. En sentido estricto ambos son mecanismos de control social. Los tópicos analizados son: los aspectos discernibles de los diferentes tipos de enunciados, los fines perseguidos por cada orden normativo y el carácter relativo y absoluto atribuido a los valores.
