​The present article focuses on five of the most prominent merchants in Cusco during the late eighteenth century. All of them had some common features, namely their penninsular origins and their investments in sugar cañe and native textiles. They all supplied the Upper Peruvian market and provided commodities for the corregidor's reparto. It might be observed that the Bourbon Reforms -at the fiscal level- affected their interests profoundly, as well as did the Great Rebellion of 1780-81.El presente articulo analiza la presencia de cinco de los más prominentes comerciantes cusqueños a fines del siglo XVIII. Todos ellos demostraron tener algunos rasgos en común, como sus orígenes peninsulares y sus inversiones en la producción de azúcar y de ropa de la tierra. Además, todos ellos abastecían el mercado Altoperuano y proveían mercancías al corregidor para su reparto. Como se podrá observar las Reformas Borbónicas -sobre todo a nivel fiscal- afectaron sus intereses profundamente, al igual que lo hizo la Gran Rebelión de 1780-81.
