DescriptionStates are internationally obliged to respect and guarantee the human rights of individuals, including the right to social security. States have also assumed other international commitments for the protection of investors. Consequently, in regions such as Latin America, there has been a conflict between these two obligations that has materialized in the form of investor claims before arbitration tribunals over the measures adopted by states to comply with their human rights obligations.en-US
DescriptionLos Estados están internacionalmente obligados a respetar y garantizar los derechos humanos de las personas, entre los que se incluye el derecho a la seguridad social. Asimismo, los Estados asumieron otros compromisos internacionales para la protección del inversor. Es así como, en regiones tales como América Latina, se ha asistido a un conflicto entre ambas obligaciones que se materializan a partir de los reclamos de los inversores ante los tribunales arbitrales por las medidas adoptadas por los Estados para cumplir con sus obligaciones de derechos humanos.es-ES
