During the 1970s, the United Nations convened several conferences focused on deliberating the Law of the Sea. The primary aim of these gatherings was to reassess and modernize the outdated maritime legal framework while establishing new mechanisms for social governance in marine environments. This paper seeks to analyze the proposed new legal framework for oceanic space management while also articulating a series of critiques regarding these proposed modifications.En la década de 1970, se llevaron a cabo diversas conferencias, convocadas por Naciones Unidas, para debatir sobre el Derecho del Mar. Estas reuniones tuvieron como objetivo principal la revisión y actualización del antiguo marco legal marítimo, así como la creación de nuevos mecanismos de ordenamiento social en el ámbito marino. El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar el nuevo marco legal de gestión de los espacios oceánicos que se busca introducir, además de formular una serie de críticas en torno a estas modificaciones.
