The purpose of this article is to conduct a thorough analysis of teleworking in the Argentine Republic, how it was implemented and the corresponding regulations. In the first place, we will provide a notion of teleworking and the subtle differences from other modalities such as "remote work", "homework" and "home-based work". Then, we will delve into the regulatory framework, with a focus on recent Law 27.555, that regulates teleworking in our country. In the second place, we will carry out a comparative analysis with other countries (Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Paraguay) to understand their legislation regarding teleworking and how the states have responded to this new contractual modality, that had its greatest boom from the covid-19 pandemic that set the agenda for 2020. Finally, we will try to provide an approximation about the reality of this not so new modality of work, which, although not entirely new, still has room for further development, in each of the countries mentioned. To achieve this, we will provide specific data on the existing number of teleworkers and their possible growth, considering the socioeconomic context and employment situation of these individuals.La finalidad de este artículo es realizar un acabado análisis sobre el teletrabajo en la República Argentina, la manera en que se implementó y la normativa dictada en consecuencia. En primer lugar, se brindará una noción sobre el teletrabajo y las sutiles diferencias con otras modalidades como el “trabajo a distancia”, “trabajo a domicilio” y el “trabajo basado en el domicilio”; para luego adentrarse en el marco normativo y, sobre todo, en la reciente Ley Nro. 27.555 que regula el teletrabajo en nuestro país. En segundo lugar, se realizará un análisis comparativo con otros países (Chile, México, Ecuador, Uruguay y Paraguay) a los fines de conocer su legislación en torno al teletrabajo y la manera en que los estados fueron dando respuestas a esta nueva modalidad contractual, que tuvo su mayor auge a partir de la pandemia del Covid-19 y marcó la agenda del año 2020. Por último, se intentará brindar una aproximación acerca de la realidad de esta no tan novedosa modalidad de trabajo,pero que aún tiene mucho camino por recorrer en cada uno de los paísesmencionados. Para ello se brindará datos concretos sobre la cantidad deteletrabajadores existentes y su posible crecimiento teniendo en consideración elcontexto socioeconómico y la situación laboral de aquellos.
